Vice President of Risk and Compliance
We are seeking a VP Risk and Compliance responsible for monitoring, evaluating and overseeing enterprise wide risks including, but not limited to interest rate risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, spread risk management, lending underwriting activities, compliance and information security, administration of internal audit function, and the Business Continuity Program. This hands-on position also serves as enterprise-wide Risk and Compliance Officer for company and requires a solid understanding of regulations impacting the industry.
Responsibilities will include:
- Administratively manage the internal audit function, executing the annual audit plan to include scheduling the regulatory examinations and audits through management.
- As the Compliance Officer, manage the Compliance and Information Security function including managing participation in regulatory exams and audits such as BSA, OFAC, etc.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the investment area to ensure a high level of communication on all portfolio risk activities.
- Ensure that SunCorp maintains compliance with all risk policies and regulations at all times. Conducts assessments on all key risk areas of SunCorp and includes measurement on compliance and risk exposure and ensures communication to appropriate entities. Makes recommendations for policy changes as appropriate.
Requires solid knowledge of finance, credit economics, competitive investment products, hedging strategies, interest rate swaps, and cash markets.
Expert level organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
Strong communication skills including written reporting, summarizing and the ability to conduct small and large group presentations.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; advanced degree and CFA designation preferred. At least 10 years related experience, preferably compliance, internal audit, and/or enterprise wide risk experience from a major financial institution.
